Dr. Lis Ladyman was born in England, immigrated at an early age with her parents to Vernon B.C. where she completed her schooling.
Always wanting to become a veterinarian, she acquired a Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph in 1969 followed by a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in 1973.
Upon graduation she spent her first year at Nanton Veterinary Clinic in Alberta then took advantage of a travelling scholarship from OVC to enjoy practicing veterinary medicine in New Zealand, Australia and England and seeing many countries in between for a year and a half.
Once back in Canada, she was a locum in several locations in B.C. She was employed in Merritt for 3 years. She then, spent a year in Salmon Arm with Shuswap Veterinary Clinic. She returned to Merritt in 1980 and established Nicola Valley Veterinary Clinic at its present location.
Lis has many interests associated with fun and the great outdoors... horseback riding, cattle ranching, watersports, fly fishing, kyaking, canoeing, curling, downhill and cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
She enjoys her dog and her horse.
